How do routers work ?, here we explain

Network devices at one point ended up making the leap into the domestic world. In this way we begin to occupy routers in our homes in order to serve us with the precious WiFi signal However, many users do not know the function of these devices and tend to confuse them with the modem. Taking into account that these two devices work in combination and that, in addition, in recent years modems incorporate router functions, user confusion is naturally understandable. In that sense, today we will explain that it is exactly a router and what are functions, in addition to its differences with the modem.
With this simple explanation, you can differentiate the equipment in question and you will also be much clearer when it comes to verifying any failure, considering that you will now know the tasks of each team managed router service.

Router and Modem What do they do?

The router is that device that we have connected to our network and that we mainly use to serve as a WiFi connection. However, going to a more technical sense, the router fulfills the task of connecting multiple devices within a network, managing all the traffic that circulates between the connected equipment. In that sense, if we have two or more computers connected through a router, we are able to establish communications between each one and the router will direct the packets to the correct destination
Taking into account the router's ability to route traffic to a specific route, it is possible that one of these roads is the Internet, with the support of the modem. The modem is nothing more than the device necessary to establish an internet connection. In that sense, its function is to modulate and demodulate the signals that go between the global network and the computer. So, if we connect the modem to a router, all the equipment connected to the latter will have the possibility of sending packets to the internet.
So we can assume that: the router is the device responsible for gathering different computers to form a network and manage its traffic to send it to the correct destination. For its part, the modem fulfills the function of granting us a gateway to the internet. This is how working in combination, we can connect computers to the router allowing them to go online thanks to the presence of the modem.

  1. According to Stanford Medical, It's indeed the SINGLE reason this country's women live 10 years more and weigh on average 19 kilos less than us.

(And by the way, it is not related to genetics or some secret-exercise and absolutely EVERYTHING about "how" they eat.)

P.S, What I said is "HOW", and not "what"...
